- Two 100% green energy plans
- Plans for credit meters and prepayment meters
- Benefit from Octopus Energy’s excellent customer service
Ebico Living is a the result of a strategic partnership between not-for-profit supplier Ebico, and green energy firm Octopus Energy.
By partnering with Octopus, Ebico is able to continue to provide affordable domestic energy tariffs under the Ebico Living brand, and to do so in an environmentally friendly way.
As a social enterprise, they do not operate to make profits, unlike many of their competitors, but provide green energy to customers at cheap rates to help low-income households.
Ebico Living offer three main dual fuel tariffs for customers:
As a not-for-profit supplier, as a customer you can be sure that Ebico’s tariff prices are competitive, as they will not be overcharging you to make more money for themselves.
Ebico previously provided gas and electricity to customers via a white-label partnership with Robin Hood Energy. This meant that Robin Hood provided the energy to Ebico’s customers.
In September 2020, Robin Hood was acquired by British Gas, meaning that all of their customers, and customers they provided energy for, were moved over to British Gas.
In April 2021, Ebico announced a new partnership would be starting with Octopus Energy under the new brand Ebico Living. This means that Ebico would set the tariffs for new customers, and the energy and customer service would be provided by Octopus.
When Ebico customers were moved over following the acquisition of Robin Hood Energy, British Gas promised that they would honour any fixed term contracts that customers had signed with Ebico.
However those who were on variable tariffs, or whose contracts have expired were moved onto British Gas’s standard variable tariff, which can be worse value for money than similar tariffs from other providers. With variable tariffs there are no exit fees, so you can switch back to an Ebico tariff if you want without having to pay a penalty.
With certified green energy supplier Octopus now providing the gas and electricity to Ebico customers, 100% of the energy used to produce electricity comes from renewable energy sources.
The latest data for Octopus Energy’s electricity has 75.3% of the energy from wind farms, 21% from solar panels and 3.7% from hydroelectric sources.

Ebico do offer smart meters to customers, following the government’s smart meter rollout, which entitles households to have a free smart meter installed if they wish.
This means that if your household is in an area which has been reached by the rollout, get in contact with Ebico and they will arrange for an engineer to visit and upgrade your meter.
Ebico are currently offering smart PAYG meters, as well as SMETS 2 meters for monthly credit customers.
Ebico Living do not charge any exit fees on any of their tariffs, including their fixed tariff. That they do not put up any barriers to you leaving shows their confidence that customers are going to be happy with the service and rates that they are given.
