Fairerpower energy is a subsidiary of the OVO Energy group and they mainly supply energy to the Cheshire East Region. They offer dual fuel deals to all households that fall within their catchment area. They are owned by Cheshire Council and are not run for profit, this means that they can offer extremely competitive rates on gas and electricity.
They were established with the sole purpose of offering fairer deals to the people who live locally in that area. They are the first set up of this kind in the UK and so far the endeavour has been extremely successful. They aim to provide good customer service and have achieved good ratings in this area. Once 700 households switch to this plan, it will have already paid for the initial outlay by the local council.
