If I can't read my meter, can I get the company to read it every time?

If you are on your supplier's Priority Services Register and you have difficulty reading your gas or electricity meter, you can ask your supplier to make sure they read it every quarter. This will not cost you any extra money.

It will mean you are less likely to receive estimated bills.

Note: more companies are trying to read all their customers' meters every quarter. So even if you are not eligible to join your supplier's Priority Services Register, you should still be able to choose a supplier that will offer quarterly meter reading as standard.
