Energy Smart Campaign
Energy Smart is a joint campaign with
Ofgem (the industry regulator) and
energywatch (the independent gas and consumer watchdog). The aim of
the campaign is to provide the consumer with clear information on how to make considerable
savings on gas and electricity bills by changing supplier, using the cheapest billing
method and by increasing energy efficiency.
The campaign states that the average household could save £300 each year using these
methods.
Save by Changing Energy Supplier
According to Ofgem, "there are still savings to be made by changing your supplier.
Anyone who has never switched their gas and electricity supplier can save". Energywatch
recommends the use of internet price comparison services like ours in order to find
the best deal. SimplySwitch is one of a small number of companies that has been
awarded energywatch Confidence Code accreditation which ensures that you get 'accurate
and uniform results' when you switch with
